Restart After Effects.
To add a new font to After Effects:

Close After Effects if it is open.

Download and install the font file on your computer.

Open After Effects and go to Character window.

Under the Fonts section type in the name of the new font to use it. Fonts can be useful in After Effects for a variety of purposes.
